Remembering Those Who Served

Communities across Ohio have special places of remembrance to honor those who have served and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. As we start to enjoy the warm weather, and summer fun at neighborhood pools, barbeques, and ballgames, one such place that comes to mind is the VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe. There, a commemorative plaque by the concessions reads:

“In Living Remembrance of Those Who Served to Preserve

the Ideals of this Nation and in Love of Fellow Man.”

This Memorial Day, as we honor the brave service men and women who have lost their lives in defense of our liberty, let us reflect on both this sacrifice and the ideals for which they have served to preserve. The ideals of this nation are what make us a beacon of hope and freedom for the entire world. We are grateful for their sacrifice and for the sacrifices their families make in service to our nation.
