Never Forget

05/30/2016
There’s a Vietnam War memorial in South Boston inscribed with the following words:

If you forget my death, then I died in vain.

In the course of U.S. history, more than one million Americans have given their lives in defense of this great country. It’s a stark reminder that the freedoms we enjoy have come at a great human cost.

And while we can never hope to repay the debt we owe to these brave men and women or their families, it is our duty as citizens to never forget them or what they did.

This Memorial Day, as we welcome summer and hopefully spend some quality time with family and loved ones, let’s all take a moment to reflect upon the memory of those who have served and sacrificed.
